• BATHING

  Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and that doggie pet odor – your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning.

• BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE

  Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We can evaluate your pet's behavior to help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for your pet.

• BOARDING

  Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care (such as brushing and cuddling), and supervised walks three times a day. If your pet requires a special diet or medication, just bring these things along and we'll take care of the rest.

• DAY CARE

  Is your pet unhappy or lonely while you're at work? Give your companion the personal attention he or she deserves throughout the day. We offer the same TLC and playtime offered to our longer-term guests.

• DENTAL CARE

  Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's dental and overall health.  We use modern and safe ultrasonic equipment to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line.  Each pet is examined by the Doctor and whole mouth dental x-rays are taken to evaluate for the presence of oral cancer, cavities, broken teeth, and periodontal disease.  Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity.  We also offer Non-Anesthetic dental cleaning on the third Tuesday of each month.  Under close veterinary supervision, dental hygienists from Veterinary Dental Service, Inc. can clean your pet's teeth without the use of anesthesia.  Schedule an appointment to see if your pet is a candidate!

• EMERGENCY AND CRITICAL CARE

  In any emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is prepared to administer the ABCs of basic life support – Airway, Breathing, Circulation/Cardiac compressions. Emergency care is offered during regular business hours. In addition, we use the services of a local, fully staffed emergency center for after-hours care.

• HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES

  Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client.

• IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE

  We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages.

• MICROCHIPPING

  Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families.  Most animal shelters and veterinary hospitals will scan found pets for a microchip.  We offer the Home Again microchip product to increase the chances of a safe recovery if your pet is lost.

• NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING

  Some pets require special food, and ALL pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy, and active!

• PAIN MANAGEMENT

  Your pets feel pain and discomfort too!  We, at Brea Veterinary Hospital, know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.  We strive to keep your pets as comfortable as possible by providing pain management during and after surgical procedures, in emergency situations, and by formulating at home pain management for your older pets.

  Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate musculoskeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems.

  We have a mobile, board-certified surgeon who is called in to perform select non-routine procedures.

• SURGERY

  We offer the most advanced surgical technology to provide your pet with the safest anesthetic procedures possible. All patients are carefully screened prior to anesthesia with thorough examinations,  pre-operative bloodwork, and radiographs (if deemed necessary by the veterinarian). Surgical services include a board-certified surgeon available for specialized  procedures and a fully trained veterinary and technical staff.  We, at Brea Veterinary Hospital, utilize an external heat source to maintain your pet's proper body temperature while under anesthesia as well as ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation monitors. We also provide intensive postoperative care, and use advanced sterilization techniques.

• ULTRASOUND

  This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.
